How heavy a frame does Ford use in its Super Duty trucks?

All Ford trucks are built with heavy frames. The heavy frame is one of the aspects of Ford trucks that makes each truck a favorite amongst those who use them as workhorses. The frame supports the entire weight of the upper sections of the truck, including all the power sections like the engine and the transmission.

With its Super Duty truck models Ford has added strength to the frame. The frames consist of 95% high-strength steel. The frame sides are supported with extra cross-angled supports. Ford engineers added an extra three cross supports for a total of ten in each truck increasing torsion rigidity to eight-times that of regular trucks. The unique and beefed-up frames provide a core strength to the truck that allows adaptations such as dump beds and extra-wide flat-beds.

At Huntington Ford Lincoln, we proudly display every Super Duty Ford truck.
