Comparing Ford Bronco and Jeep Wrangler

Production of the 2021 Ford Bronco is already underway. The crossover jeep is one of the most anticipated car releases in recent history. Bronco has been out of production for the last two decades. It is only now that Ford has decided to revive the model, in hopes of it giving a good fight to the Jeep Wrangler’s market.

The Jeep Wrangler is the vehicle ruling the 4x4 off-roading pickup truck segment for quite some time now. So, let’s try to understand how the 2021 Ford Bronco could threaten the supremacy of the Jeep Wrangler in the off-road SUV market.

Removable Roof and Doors for Both

The Jeep Wrangler is designed after a military truck without a top/door. These design features make the off-roading experience for thrilling for the driver. The new Jeep Wrangler allows you to easily fold up the top and with detailed instructions on how you can take apart the doors.

The 2021 Ford Bronco, too, replicates these features. However, it beats the Jeep Wrangler when it comes to storing these removable parts. You can conveniently use the cargo hold on the 2021 Ford Bronco to stow away the removed roof/doors.

Hybrid Powertrain amid Other Engine Options

2021 Ford Bronco is all set to have a hybrid powertrain, much like the turbocharged hybrid four-cylinder option the Jeep Wrangler is installed with. However, if Ford wants to score over the Jeep Wrangler, the company should look at providing other engine options for their all-new Bronco.

Jeep enthusiasts often pay extra to have their vehicles fitted with eight-cylinder engines. If the 2021 Ford Bronco was able to incorporate an eight-cylinder engine, it would really score some major points over the Jeep Wrangler.

Dana Axles to Give the Wrangler a Run for its Money

The Jeep Wrangler’s latest model comes equipped with 3rd generation Dana solid front and rear axles, which makes the vehicle extremely compatible for off-roading. Dana has confirmed that the Bronco will be receiving components and parts from the company. So, while they haven’t specified whether it will be solid front and rear axles, it wouldn’t be wrong to assume the same.
